Our last meeting in June was very well received where we provided an opportunity for the various interest groups (retirement living, community care and residential care) to have some time available for discussion with other colleagues in the same sector. Our guest speaker at that meeting provided some light humour on a serious topic.
On September 3rd we will be having another breakfast. We will have specific tables labelled with one of the interest groups and we would encourage people from the same sector to meet their colleagues and better develop a relationship so that you know who you can contact if you need some advice or support on a particular issue.
In addition to our guest speaker, we would also like to receive some ‘street talk’ questions that people would like to ask that may be of a broad interest. Whilst there may be some obvious questions (Royal Commission, Aged care quality reviews etc), there may be other matters we should discuss.
As the Aged Care and Quality omission has now come into existence, we have approached them to come along and speak at our meetings on changes that have occurred under the new focus of the Commission. Concurrently, the Royal Commission has focussed on certain complaint handling issues in their most recent public sessions, so, with that background, I am very pleased to advise that our next seminar will be:
Tuesday, September 3rd at 7.45am
Guest Speaker – Andy Price, Director for Victoria and Tasmania, Complaints Operations, in the Aged Care Quality and Safety Commission.
Andy will talk on a variety of issues but especially the changes ahead in Aged Care and the way in which the Commission is now expected complaints to be managed.
I would encourage you to mark this date in your diary. The meeting will be back at the Village Baxter in the café and Chapel (Entrance 2, 8 Robinsons Road, Frankston South) and will commence at 7.45am for breakfast.
To register for this event please respond by email to Cheryl at email@example.com
This will be a session you will not want to miss.
